I had someone make a complaint about me in MY class (the adults class) because I wasn’t “up to par”. I had/have cerebral palsy and they were aware I was doing the class for fun and to build up my balance. 🤣 They told me as a “wtf” and that the whole class was designed as fun exercise for adults and parents of the gymnasts to try out what their kiddos were doing. Complaint was not taken seriously.

My son's martial arts instructor yelled at him for not sitting still for a 10 minute lecture. He was 3. We were there for a movement class.

As a coach of teenagers to a COMPLETELY different sport, I’m glad complaints are universal 😅 I’ll never forget the first time another parent said she didn’t think one kids was “a good fit for the team” MY team that I chose 🫠

Ah yes, I do too sometimes worry about the other toddlers enjoying their gymnastics class and having fun and disrupting my child who I expect to stay quiet and train like an Olympic gymnast because I want to vicariously live through them …….. of course that is definitely not crazy behaviour!

I know that happens because our jiu jitsu coach told us that parents were doing that about my kid. We ultimately left because they did not know how to handle my adhd child and like…why did you tell me about the other family???

retired gymnast here! 100% almost got booted off my team way back in the day becauase a parent didn't like that I wasn't besties with her horribly openly racist daughter and claimed I BIT her kid! I had a bad head coach at rhe time too, so unfortunately I am forever traumatized by sitting in the middle of my tumbling floor and watching my team vote to kick or keep me BY RAISING THEIR HAND. I stayed, but the damage was done
