Totally agree on the ‘Portion size’ thing!! The restaurant portions, in USA are Huge. Some of the steaks served (for example) would feed my own British family! Even the kids portions are unhealthily large.

Buying in bulk is a convenient thing for Americans. Milk for example: buying a gallon of milk is determined by family size and how long that will last a family for x amount of days. It's a time waste to go to the store for milk every day if it's a pint size. There are logical things we do here as Americans for convenience and to save time. Places in Europe are a lot smaller geographically to get to in walking distances. Yes some places here in the states are but not everything is. Factor in summer and winter temperatures. That's why we drive more because it's to cold or it's to hot to walk. We work smarter not harder.

Ice in drinks because you get less of the drink so it saves them money. It's aggravating !
