It’s really the principle behind it all. Yes, our little humans are little.. but just because they’re little, doesn’t mean they deserve any less than what we do. You know? OK, ladies, question for you. Is it acceptable to tell your child that you don’t keep secrets from their dad. If they ask you to keep it a secret from Dad is that acceptable? Because my son is six years old and right now when he asks to not tell dad when he does something wrong or Whatever it is, my answer is always I don’t keep secrets from your dad.. is that wrong? Now I don’t know lol

My mum always says “but she is my sister, my mum, my best friend” ect and I cannot explain to her that I am her daughter and that should trump all the other relationships in her life, a bond with me should be more important to her than any other bond aside from my dad sometimes. She continued to choose anyone but me for my whole life and I will never do that to my daughter, she will know that I want that bond over everything and everyone.

It's really important you tell everyone about your mums history. I've done this and found out she failed high school and took excessive years to be trained as a nurse, lost her nursing registration and had multiple mental episodes. Siblings with Sid's too. We all punish mum now telling everyone everything about her.

told my mom sobbing about my infetility. told her she could tell 4 trusted people (named them). she told EVERYONE. I was getting messages for months on facebook about it from people from my childhood home church

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been feeling so alone about this lately. Pregnant with our second. Dreaded telling my mom. I’ve felt very private this pregnancy and don’t feel like my whole hometown knowing. Respectfully asked my mom to keep it to family. According to her that makes me “cruel/selfish/ridiculous”. I’m sure she’s already disclosed it to all her friends against my wishes. She always did growing up.

i told my mother i was 1 mo pregnant and told her to keep it to herself the first months, she told one of her coworkers who happened to meet my father and congratulate him for the news. that was my final straw with her, our relationship never recovered from this because i don’t trust her
