As millennials, we acknowledge our children, their feelings, their wants and needs, we also let them know we are human, and we apologize to our kids! It’s so important to me that I apologize to my child if I got frustrated, or forgot something, this is when they realize we are both human, learning and mistakes in this world, but we love each other, and always want to do our best for each other.

There are two sides to the story, including the BMW he bought her off she showroom floor on Laguna Hills. I always remembered that. A 17 year old would be beyond spoiled if they received a brand new Kia, much less a BMW, they did not work for.

My toxic mother has never taken accountability for anything she’s ever done. We have had a horrible relationship all my life. And it continues to get worse. I try to find ways to cut her out of my life however, her and my dad are still together. I have begged her for a relationship in which every time she is pretty much rejected. I am civil to her around family, but that’s it. I have tried way too many times and it’s exhausting to my mental health. I’ve tried to get her to go to therapy. She absolutely sees nothing wrong with any of the things that she’s done Yet. I’m in therapy every week.

As someone who has grown up in awful situations, has had to walk away from family too, but made it through traumatized as a young single parent, did everything for my children. wasn't perfect but always apologized. Moved to heal & get better after they were grown, only for them to disown me...it works both ways. Some of us care to get help & get better. Trust me, I know the ones who dont. My heart breaks that my kids could treat me the way they have when they've been my everything. What I lived for. know that people aren't perfect, we all have issues & things we need to work through. Have boundaries but also have a heart!

I totally get it. At times it takes many years & many mistakes for it to get to this point but then the degree of severity is too much for you to ignore/dismiss/justify anymore. It took me 50 yrs until I finally cut my Mom out of my life. Its hard.

Not every parent has their kids interest at heart. It was not something she probably just did one day. It was years of things that she just finally had enough of. 💔 Good for you for knowing your boundaries and not repeating generational trauma.

Took me until my early 30s to finally cut ties with my dad. The constant need to feel or be a certain way to gain the relationship was never worth it. It's been 10 years and I've never looked back. I am worth more ♥️
