my parents took most of my life to start doing better, but they've healed enough that I don't feel like I need to limit my contact nearly as much anymore and even want to have my mother involved in certain wedding planning pieces. my dad hasn't changed much yet, and I'm more convinced than ever that I don't want him to walk me down the aisle, but we can finally have a conversation that doesn't end in yelling
