Hot take: one piece being very vague and non-descriptive isn’t ‘good story telling’. If you don’t know majority of the story until 1000+ episodes, that’s bad storytelling? Good world building with the islands being so fleshed out but it’s at the cost of a lot of different plot holes or forgotten characters… there’s soo much improvisation and holes so oda can bring characters back around later on… it’s not ‘all planned out’ just the end is and oda is very good at mysteriously improvising the meat of the story without laying bones so it can be interpreted in different ways.. that’s not good it’s bad imo.

I really like this theory, however I think the fruit would just be Hito Hito no mi Mythological model: Archangel instead of specifically Gabriel, because then that would open up possibilities for multiple archangel devil fruits

My theory is lafitte devil fruit is tenshi tenshi no mi or the angel angel fruit. Maybe this fruit allows it user to be “reborn” BUT for the cost of there past being erased and essentially being reborn as a new person completely restarting there devil fruit/awakened powers. However still retaining there memories as they were before
