My mom always says it’s so lonely in US. Because in Vietnam, it is more widely accepted of our home is your home concept. She can walk to anyone’s house and sit with them and share life with them

If you get to countryside, people can even leave doors open when nobody’s home. The neighbors know each other so well that if we lose anything expensive, it would be located, informed, and returned in the next day 😂 no one dares to rob things as that robber will become the enermy of the whole village

my mom said when she was a kid, her house was the only house that had tv and everyone would walk in and watch and it was normal. we visited last year and my 3 year old daughter walked in someone’s house and was playing with their kids for like 20 mins 🥹 it’s a cute concept but not for me mol
