@samanthaproudmama: Appalled by the Karen Millen interview surrounding breastfeeding. It’s such a damaging and factually incorrect message to put out. As a breastfeeding mum I’m honestly beyond offended. I cannot believe somebody who should be advocating for women, is instead bringing them down and pulling them apart. If you are or have breast fed - YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!! I am so proud of myself and Jack for our breastfeeding journey. Fed is best - do what’s right for you 💗 #karenmillen #breastfeeding #breastfed
jesus why do people get so offended over everything these days it's called freedom of speech she is entitled to her own opinion just like everyone is

I am not a mum or have I ever breastfed but my mum breastfed me and I support all breastfeeding mums, breastfeed for as long as you want and your baby wants.
Do not listen to a woman who's opinions are so outdated

just IMAGINE the drama if someone went on and said how bad bottle feeding was.

Is Mrs. Miller so important that you all care about what she said? Anyway she said what she believes with the best knowledge she has. She didn't say it to be liked. There is freedom of speech, you know. Mothers who continue to insist on breastfeeding their children after the first year are obviously obsessed with this issue themselves. They cannot accept that their baby does not need them to drink milk. They want to feel necessary and irreplaceable, while they could be spending their energy on other issues related to their child.

I would love to be educated and informed on this from mothers who have breastfed beyond one. When a baby turns one, a they no longer need formula and usually only have milk in the morning and before they sleep. I personally can’t see why breastfeeding is necessary after that point? I’m not judging I would just love some insight.

If breastfeeding is successful it’s actually recommended by not only the world health organisation but also the NHS to breastfeed up to a year old+ as that’s when they start to properly eat more solid foods 🥰

Why do you care what she says? This is the problem, I’ve bf all 7 of my children, varying from 12wks to 23months, I didn’t care one iota what others think of my choices, yes be proud of yourself but don’t get sad over some random ‘famous’ persons opinion x

Where did she even get 6 months from when milk is their main source of nutrition for 12 months😭 I had such a big journey with my 1st boy born at 36+5 similar to yours, I’m now feeding my 4th baby and it’s my biggest achievement feeding 4 babies, and I always feed well beyond a year! We really are incredible 💪🏼 the benefits mum and baby get is well worth it, and it’s completely natural❤️

Right if a mass of women had ceased breastfeeding because of the interview on the Vanessa show, I could see your point but WHY are you so upset? It won’t change your breastfeeding journey. PLEASE credit women with the intelligence to do their own research and speak to their midwives and health visitors. No one is sat watching Vanessa with a notebook and pen looking for scientific research re: obstetrics, nor did the show claim to be such. It’s an OPINION show. She said “I think it’s selfish of the mother”. That’s her opinion. Oh right yeah she said “no nutritional benefit”….which shes not the first person/mother to say or think.

Beautifully said. My little boy was born at 34 weeks and we spent 23 days in the neonatal unit whilst he got strong enough to breastfeed. He's now 15 months and we still feed once a day. It's a huge comfort to both of us. It's been the most challenging but rewarding experience I've ever had and feel so lucky to have been able to do it for this amount of time. I was appalled by Karen Millen's interview. I also hope that all breastfeeding mothers know the amazing job they are doing and will continue to feed their child for as long as they wish to.

I breastfed my kids non stop for 18 years straight with no break in between, sometimes tandem feeding and others feeding while pregnant! It is the complete opposite of selfish, it is completely selfless! I slept terrible for 18 years straight! How dare she splutter such rubbish on TV! Thank you for praising breastfeeding!
