But his story did end differently! He restored his favor in God by devoting and trusting Him again, which by the grace of God brought His spirit back to Sampson. Verse 22: “But the hair of his head began to grow again…” Such a great story of grace and redemption.

Something to think about; Samson wasn’t just a random dude God had favor on and he held his anointing. He acts as a Christophany that is presented to not just the Israelites but to us the readers to show that Jesus was the True messiah

Why does God bless Sampson if he continues to misbehave? Like he gave him such great gifts ? But at the same time allows suffering to Job ?

It’s interesting that this comes on my fyp cause my dad wrote a whole list of stories in Judges I am suppose to read and I was so interested in reading about Samson. I only heard about it, never read. Thankyou for sharing! I am extra exited now.

Also, something to maybe brush up on is the Nazarite vow in the OT, God is very much a God of order and Samson had already broken several stipulations of that Vow and the Lord intervened and allowed him to keep his strength, his hair was essentially the last straw, this also highlights how the Lord is slow to give us over to the consequences of our sins!

BTW when you talked about breaking concentration it brought me back to a personal experience when my ex texted me at night in a season when my flesh was so weak. I’m always honest with the Lord about my weaknesses & I told God honestly that I wanted to go back to him & have sex. The Lord told me: “Do not throw away your sacrifice.” The fear of the Lord was pushed back into me when I heard that. Yes His mercies are new every morning, but sometimes we don’t understand what we give up when we Do give into our weaknesses.
