@timmchiusano: this level of energy at work and in your personal life usually results in you being frustrated even more, and creates ruts in what you are doing. it can win a hockey game, but it’s going to lose with your own team in the locker room. we all fall into it sometimes, especially when we are stressed, but it will almost never, ever lead to progress: anger, blame, “me vs. you” thinking only leads to more of the same. that’s called level 2 energy. this energy level is why we despise some of the worst bosses we have had. they were mean, needed to be right, and the behavior was largely rooted in their own fear of not directly controlling outcomes all of the time. managers who lead this way—through control, pressure, or blame—might get short-term results. but they burn people out. they burn themselves out too. this energy level can pop up a ton at home too. arguments about being right, versus how to get to better outcomes create bigger diviides versus growth. if you can learn how to not care about being right, and care more about what good looks like at the end, it may seem counterintuitive at first but it can set you free and help get you to levels 5 & 6 which is where the real good stuff is. hope this helps. love, timm ps - yes, I’m a terrible actor, that “anger” shot in my office was me pretending to kick marcus & shawn millione out for making too good of a protein bar 😅 pps - thanks to @Coach Chippy 🏒 for the pep talk cameo 🏒

As a fellow life long New Yorker, I love your content but it’s really bumming me out how you won’t speak up on the mayoral election or what’s going on with immigrants in the country. Especially because our city is built on them.

Level 2 energy is real, and it's so easy to fall into that trap at work or home. Thanks for the reminder to breathe and focus on the bigger picture!
