Use the miter saw for the long cut. I started using an angle grinder with a sanding disc for the coping instead of the coping saw. It’s much easier to control and provides much better results

I do it the same way, but I use a mitre saw to get me most of the way and then I just coped a little bit at the top where the round over is but I use a back bevel of like 5° when using the saw to

personally I usully use drywall shims behind the trim to make it sit level. its a bit less work than coping

just cut the same 45 angle and beveled the back of your saw 1 or 2 degrees to cut more from the top with the same 45, no copping needed🤷♂️
