@derekweyhrauch_md: Silent killer. Elevated Lipoprotein(a) levels increase heart risk… and we don’t (yet!) have FDA-approved treatments for it. But we can act: ✅ Lower LDL aggressively ✅ PCSK9 inhibitors drop Lp(a) ~20–30% ✅ Manage everything else: triglycerides, insulin resistance, inflammation (hsCRP), BP, and quit smoking ✅ Know About New Medicines: 💉 RNA therapies like olpasiran and pelacarsen cut Lp(a) by 80%+ in trials! Coming soon. ✅ Establish care with a specialist. Knowing is half the battle. Advocate for yourself and control your risk and you can change your outcome. - #doctor #medicine #prevention #cardiology #health #wellness - Disclaimer: The contents of this video are for informational purposes only and are not intended to be medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, nor to replace medical care. Co-management with a dietitian/rehab professional is crucial in combination with medical intervention (medication) to help reduce the orher numbers ASAP. Most of the time (not always). Patient have a very low consumption of plant based foods and have a sedentary lifestyle. Which increase more the risks, counseling is also crucial, if they suffer from binge-eating disorder. Great video
