At first I wasn’t planning on visiting the Dolomites on this trip as I assumed it would be expensive & the fact I only had 2 nights here meant I’d probably need a tour. However, I was very wrong - heres what I did meaning I could also afford to enjoy a local beer & what the whole experience cost me! ⛰️DAY 1 Stay at an Airbnb in Bolzano to avoid highly priced hotels in the mountains Cable car to Soprabolzano & Renon for great views & great beer. Visit on the 15.08 to experience the Kirchtag festival Wander the colourful streets of Bolzano & appreciate the architecture I had a tin of tuna left so I made a sandwich for my tea then had an early night ready for… ⛰️DAY 2 Wake up early, take advantage of free breakfast at the airbnb (link in highlights) & take the local bus(€3 & ONLY TAKES 30-40 MINS) to Alpe di Suisi for a mega hike On your way up its proper ‘Sound of music’ vibes with lush green fields, rocky Mountains & constant ringing of cow bells. Take a million photos & videos because you can’t believe you’re actually in the Dolomites - life is great - FaceTime home to show them I met an Italian couple so I finished the hike with them then enjoyed a beer and some snacks which they kindly bought for me Take some more time to appreciate the views & read a few chapters Return to Bolzano by bus & treat yourself to a feast @batzen_brauerei - take the rest home for tomorrows lunch - basically a free meal ;) ⛰️DAY 3 Another early rise, another action packed day - take the local bus (€3 you guessed it) to Lake Carezza. The bus literally drops you off right next to the lake. You cannot miss this alpine lake which reflects the Latemar mountain range through its clear ice blue water. Walk right around the lake & into the forests. Forage for mushrooms to take them to your next destination (more money saved) I returned back to Bolzano to catch a ‘BlaBlaCar’ ride to my next country…Austria. Total cost - £𝟏𝟕𝟏 #dolomites #dolomitesunesco #bolzano #bolzanoitaly #dolomitesitaly #dolomitesmountain #alpedisiusi #italianalps #travelitaly #italytraveltips #italytravelguide #italiandolomites ##traveltiktok #traveltok Dolomites on a budget|How to get to the Dolomites|Dolomites travel guide
