Totally had an anker power bank basically melt while charging at Disneyland a few months ago in our hotel! I happened to smell a burning smell before falling asleep thankfully and the charger was busted apart and melted! I had 6 portable chargers (some anker, some other brands) and it was just 1 newer anker bank

Anker is, IMHO an overrated company. They have a history of poor quality, and they never make efforts to certify their USB products to save a few pennies.

I had one of that model number, looked up the serial number on the Anker recall page, they said my serial number for that model was safe to use (not affected as part of the recall).

mine is part of the recall, the website form for replacement kept changing my address and I couldn't submit it, I called and they weren't taking calls and said to email, so I emailed and after going back and forth 3 times, I *think* I finally got my claim processed for replacement 🙃

I love Anker, best customer service. I wrote a review gave 5 stars for their product about 4 years after I bought it saying it was the best charger and sad the port broke. They saw my review and sent me a new one free 🙈🥰 they are doing the right thing, will continue getting their products!
