because.... PATRIARCHY. Patriarchy exploits women's labor for the benefit of men. men's lives get easier while women's lives get harder.

Taking care of your living space isnt a mans job or a womans job. It's just something all of us have to do as adults

And to be clear domestic labor includes chores. Cooking. Meal planning. Making appointments. Paying bills. Taking kids to Drs etc.

WE are exploiting women or MEN are exploiting women? the feminists who empower women to work aren't the same "we" as the men who don't want to do domestic labour

It’s because it doesn’t empower them, they feel emasculated by doing what we consider basic human responsibilities. They grew up thinking they wouldn’t have to. Hopefully the next generation is taught from the beginning

I love to cook, sew, stitch… because my mother and grandfather taught me from an early age and inspired a great passion for such things in me, so that I would almost have a problem with the woman I’m with getting do it all… I once actually had a cook off with an ex to decide who handles the kitchen (washing dishes and buying groceries included) handles that😅. So I would say if we manage to teach the value and satisfaction that can be found in these things, and show them as something that’s not just a chore but actually something you can also like doing, then changing the way couples deal with this would probably go over much easier.

it has to start as kids! if boys have the same load of cleaning chores, that usually follows into adulthood. always exceptions, but for the most part it starts bc they aren't made to learn at a young age.

That's why we need to be smart about the partners we choose. Simple. I am the breadwinner in my house and my husband is a phenomenal father and does his part with upkeeping the house.

We are still empowering women. They now have the power to choose to be single so they don't have to be some man's mother, maid, nanny, etc. Male consequences epidemic until men evolve
