@sbsnews_au: Morning raves have been popping up in Australia and all around the world – but what’s behind their rising success? A decline in nightclubs, a rise in sober awareness and the ongoing cost of living crisis all seem to be factors. #rave #melbourne
Another factor: with social media, people don’t want to be out drunk and being filmed constantly. Going out is expensive, people don’t want to be hungover. Nightlife is dying. People want something wholesome and low cost. Even if coffee was $10, it’s still cheaper and with no hangover, dirty hangover feed and Ubers

You know what? I dig this!! It's truly wholesome against an encyclopaedia of horrific & terrible stories that have unfolded past midnight over many decades. Nothing good happens past midnight so this is a good change.

I think the appeal is also because it is a safer environment. The risks of getting spiked, going through an altercation because everyone is inebriated is imminent on a night out and I think Younger millennials/gen z, especially after covid, value their well being a lot more

The reason why it’s decreased is due to the introduction of lockout laws in NSW which saw kings cross and george st clubbing districts disappear, then covid happened and you had a generation of 18 year olds miss out. Now there is a cultural change where people don’t go out anymore or they go just for dinner. I’m so blessed to have turned 18 in the early 2010s and have those experiences.

At one point I was living in Melbourne upstairs from a Goth nightclub that had an "after" rave that started at 7am on a Monday. I did have to go and talk to them once about the noise problem, but we found that if they turned the volume up a bit and kept the headphones on then they couldn't hear me snoring at all
