You explained it so well. I actually think it’s nice that people in Korea start to care more about individuality and deeper sides to a person. But I do hope they read more about cognitive functions to really understand MBTI, rather than just the letters E/I because sometimes those don’t give a full picture of how a person is 😅

yall need to realize that countries like korea have very specific histories (i mean tbh any country lol) and for a country like korea, the reason why they are the way they are right now comparatively to other, especially eurocentric countries, is bc of how relatively recently traumatized they are. they were brutally colonized by japan until 1945 followed by the korean war in 1953 and were in a state of deep poverty due to it. having systemic sameness and conformity and effectiveness was their way out of said poverty and led to their revitalization. yes, it’s also led to a lot of their more modern day problems now. but it was also their solution back in the day. essentially to work together. but now it’s like hyper trauma bonded systemic conformity but realize it’s only been so long since they’ve recovered and become a developed nation and whatnot (basically like one generation’s worth of time). as a society they’re very much still figuring shit out. not to say it’s an excuse by any means for the problems that korea has. but it’s a reason. as a korean american myself, i don’t speak for them or anything obvi, but just as with any country, understanding a country’s history is always important. no it doesn’t excuse the problems of said country but it explains a lot of why they are the way they are and how they’ve gotten to where they are now. to me korea just reminds me of like the definition of generational trauma lol

I ve been living in Germany for several years now n I still see people who r serious about zodiac signs. The difference from Korea is that anything in korea is very trendy n has short lifespan while here in the west tend to stick to their traditions more. I’m sure mbti will b replaced sooner or later just like the blood type nonsense was. Also many people say Korean is collective society but that is only half true. As Korean living in German village was an eye opener. I’m sure many Korean

He explained it well, but a lot of koreans imo dont really know what their true mbti is, because they get their results through unreliable websites

the problem with MBTi is that most people don't know it's pseudo science, the test was INSPIRED by Jung's work, the real authors don't have any background in psychology, mother and daughter both homeschooled, the daughter had studies in politics, they did it for fun. Doing the test for fun is one thing but your career and interviews depending on it it's just wrong. Not to mention seeing some types being labeled as "bad" or transformed into a stereotype is weird

I read a thread of INTP being rejected in Korean jobs interview. MBTI is a stereotype (and pseudoscience), not a social tool. Something that should be only for fun somehow reached workplace setting, very unprofessional.

I read about TJ and TP types being rejected in job interviews in Korea because of these differences, at the end they became flaws, again

and this is so true in every system where a reactive "cover up" flourishes. People get alienated from their society if they fail to be part of the system that drives it (which, in majority of the cases, is capitalism...)

Mbti is NOT fake 😭😭 I swear I’m an infp and it’s been this huge discovery like finally things make SENSE. It connected all of the dots and I’ve been replaying a lot of events in my life and I’m like ‘oh wait, it’s bc of my mbti 😭😅’ so I KNOW it’s just for fun, but it has accuracy! 🤍🤍

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is often considered pseudoscience by many psychologists for several reasons: Lack of Empirical Support: The MBTI lacks strong empirical evidence demonstrating its reliability and validity.

I just took the MBTI test last night, because honestly, I never really believed in things like this. But from a positive point of view, this test truly changed the way I see myself. Like you said, if before this I felt useless, now I can start to see the strengths that I have. I got INFJ-T. Surprisingly, all the suggested careers are exactly what I’m currently doing—healthcare and volunteering. And coincidentally, before taking this test, I had already been thinking about continuing my studies in the field of psychology or becoming a speech therapist.
