I live in Spain. To be honest it’s not as good as you believe. It’s hard to get "clean meat" it salt water and other shit in it. You need to go to local butchers to get real meat

If you hunt most stores have discount sections with great prices on meats and other items.

Worked in that supermarket 15% of fresh food and 33% of vegetables and fruits ended in the garbage because of mantaining fresh for the customers tables. That is the cost. Bad looking items are thrown away before they are going bad anyway. The customers will not pay for those.
