She also wore 13 hairpins in the asylum of the Fortnight MV and then dropped them w her curly hair as she was being given electroshock therapy later in the MV

I'm so tired of the argument that she couldn't possibly be queerflagging bc how could little baby innocent taylor swift have even KNOWN about these.. things? they spend the rest of their time marveling at how she's a lyrical genius mastermind who uses obscure references regularly, but this is just a black hole of her knowledge? please

shes referenced hairpin drop three times in her work. twice in lyrics, and the third she quite literally acting out a hairpin drop on the eras tour. when she's acting out flirting with one of the dancers who's hair at the start of the tour starts as up and beautifully pinned, and as the shows go on the dancers hair falls out of the bun until fully down, unpinned. I believe when she's singing TLGAD, when they're on the stairs :).

From an old gay: we had to have the queer codes even back in the 90’s (I came out in the 70’s) the flags and codes were fun and absolutely known by us and necessary

She also did it AGAIN in The Great War with “hairpin trigger”. It’s not an accident.

Also what would dust collecting on my pinned up hair mean if not the hairpins she wasn’t able to drop because she couldn’t reveal her queerness? Like why would her hair be pinned up? I don’t understand any other explanation

It's telling that people said 'she had no other way of writing that line, there just had to be smt before pin'. So they're saying she isn't the lyrical genius that she is 🤷♀️Esp with the 'pinned up hair' that followed. So loud.

I had posted a video about how she does this in her writing all the time, taking idioms or turns of phrase and then switching out key words to change the meaning. But funny, it’s only ever the “Hairpin Drop” line that people say is a coincidence and not intentional.

She’s so smart and such a good lyricist that there’s no way she’s accidentally been flagging in her lyrics for so long
