@markizmarketing: Boley, Oklahoma, one of the most historically significant all-Black towns in America, founded in 1903 when segregation and Jim Crow ruled the South. At the center was a man named T.M. Haynes, a Black attorney and visionary who helped build a safe haven on land once worked by enslaved people.

They told us to build our own and we did, only to be destroyed by the very people who wanted nothing to do with us. The irony is breathtaking.

Yes, I would visit there and attend the black rodeo. There was a famous comedian named “Flip Wilson” that would visit there just to entertain us for free. This was in 1978-1982.

I am from Oklahoma. I remember my Dad taking me to the Black Boley rodeos when I was a girl in the 70s and 80s. Oklahoma was a black town mecca.

they don't talk about it because it's counter productive .it shows success is possible. they prefer to focus on blk wall street why they cant.instead of the 13 blk towns that still exsist today in ohklahoma.
