@cnn: An apartment building in West Virginia partially collapsed as flash floods hit the area. The governor's office said at least five people are dead and four people remain missing following the floods. #cnn #news #westvirginia
Not everyone in Wv voted red. No one deserves this though.

What y’all don’t seem to realize is that southern West Virginia was flooded so much worse in February.

Trump was confident the states could handle their own disasters. I’m sure West Virginia and its tax revenue have this covered. And at least these communities will see the fruits of labor, you know, voting against their own best interests. We tried to tell you. 💙

the is an epidemic of people lacking empathy just because some communities voted for trump does not mean they dont have the right to live. we are all victims of the same system

To everyone saying WV deserved this for voting red: the areas that flooded such as Fairmont, Morgantown, and Wheeling where the flooding occurred are some of the most diverse, most college educated and most liberal areas of the state. ESPECIALLY Morgantown (home of WVU). And even if they were, it’s horrible to say anyone deserved this when multiple people including a child passed away

Vote blue or red it doesn’t matter. These are human lives. Nobody knows who any of these people that are affected voted for & it doesn’t matter

Hello! One of the 30% of West Virginians that did not vote red, here! Highly disappointed in the dems in the comments wishing this tragedy on our state. Please don't stoop as low as the enemy. Let's lead with love, not hate. I know that's hard when it's all that seems to be received from "the other side". Be better. That's what the 30% of us are still doing here, fighting for a positive change in the future of our beloved home. Sending love to all those affected ❤️

PLEASE READ!! West Virginians! I’m truly sorry for your pain it truly breaks my heart TRULY! I’m praying for y’all! I’m reading the comments are SO divided this is NO LONGER about red or blue, Republicans or Dem. It’s about right or wrong and humanity. At this point we can ALL see it clearly where are tax dollars are truly going to and it’s not for you or me. Not for California or WV. It’s going to government contracts and tax cuts that don’t help the nation but only enriches .01% of the nation.

The rain was bad, but it wasn’t even from the rain. It was because the City’s pipes couldn’t handle the rain and they busted in the walls of the complex

This is near my hometown. The saddest part is that tragedies like this aren't uncommon in WV. A lot of our cities' waterways are outdated, our infrastructure fails regularly, and a considerable amount of the population lives at or below the poverty line. We are gerrymandered beyond belief, our education is deploable, we are trying to live even tho we have long figured out that the world has left us behind. WV is the only state to be entirely encompassed by the Appalachian region, making many communities impassable during disasters. Remember that we are people, we have familes and lives and things to take care of, and that we are doing our best.
