In reality, these shows that run for many seasons center around a love story that should be over in one or two seasons, but they drag it out for many more bc people like the show. It is very hard to defer a couple getting together for so long w/o making them toxic. Another good example is Ross & Rachel from Friends.

The one things don’t agree with is that Carrie was very unconventional. In some ways she was too conventional… her whole life revolved around finding a man and losing parts of herself to keep him, even if he was t being very nice to her. I mean she had some wacky outfits but what was unconventional about her besides that?
