Time to give the Canadian people the power to protect themselves and their property. Leaving our safety to police isn't working. Cops are goid at investigations after the fact and then justice isn't even served because judges just let the criminals back out on the street.

My neighbour called the cops on my husband because he mowed a patch of their grass attached to ours that they left. Thought he was helping, neighbour called trespassing 😑

you know what else would help put more officers on the road? police need to stop attending calls that are trivial and not a police matter

you actually wouldn't need public service officers if they did their job properly and didn't act like they were above the law. I remember in Canada a time where everyone waves to cops and cops didn't even have to wear bullet proof vests. They were there to serve the public. Now police serve the law and their handlers, no exceptions.

Yep, been in law enforcement for about 16 years. An entire shift at a com relations event always looked bad in my eyes. It's still important, but a healthy balance needs to be met.

4,870 Toronto cops. 1687 (2015) cop cars. 2.8 million people 6.4 in the metropolitan area. 4870 for all those people. Not all those cops take calls. The amount of cops for citizens is waaaay off balance. We need more cops!

Leadership in police services is far from stellar in most departments ! Top Heavy glorified beaurocrats allowing these block parties to take place ! Add incompetent liberal lawmakers and nothing ever changes !

Time liberal leaning judges need to do their job properly, instead of giving them bail before the inks dry on the police report, maybe we should elect judges based on their performance

Respect for our men and women; However, when I see 9 cruiser attend a b&e that happened an hour prior I wonder who is managing dispatch. No more officers. We need efficiency and accountability.

Well said. I agree community awareness is good, as long as it informs the public & has a relevant outcome. For example, the programs that go to high schools to show teens the risks of drinking & driving is something I’d classify as informative as it can help prevent the crime & promotes general public safety. Doing programs like that is enough to “look good” for the public. But yeah I agree, you’re there to do your jobs, not to be called as characters in costumes for these type of events.
