@addison.jarman: 🎥 Did you know surprise medical bills are (mostly) illegal now? 🏥💸 Thanks to the No Surprises Act, you’re protected from unexpected out-of-network charges after emergency care or when you’re treated at an in-network facility by an out-of-network provider. 📌 Here’s what to know: ✅ Applies to ER visits, air ambulances, & in-network hospitals ✅ You can’t be billed extra for out-of-network doctors you didn’t choose ✅ If you get hit with a surprise bill, you can dispute it 💡 Tip: Always ask if your provider is in-network & keep copies of your bills. #NoSurprisesAct #MedicalBills #HealthcareTips #MoneyMatters #KnowYourRights
simply ignore any hospital bill you don't agree with

Does this work of your doctors office becomes a clinic and therefore they add a hospital charge onto your bill? I was surprised with an extra $1400 for a cortisone shot. No one apprised me of this change beforehand.

I had no luck with this. My son was taken to a hospital for an emergency surgery in our town and they claimed the doctor was out of network. We got a $124,000 bill that insurance refused to cover. 10 months of fighting, they sent us to collections and collections settled for a cool $26,000. We pay $1700 a month, we were supposed to have “no network, use who you want in the county” I tried citing the no surprise billing, their own insurance policy… didn’t matter. They sent us to collections

It's not that simple. Doctors have a right not to be forced to contract with corrupt insurance companies. They also have a right to get paid for their services. The No Surprise billing Act sounds good but only complicates the corrupt insurance industry for doctors and patients in the USA.

18 years ago I got hit with $5.500 for the anesthesiologist when I had my oldest son. Had no clue he wasn’t covered.

How about them looking at ur insurance and collecting the estimate fee and charging your individual deductible that they can what’s been used or not used. But just trying to collect it all.

This is not true for insurance. NSA only applies to self pay at this time.
