Not sure if it happens to all trucks but for the 7.3’s the affordable aftermarket alternators from the chain stores seem to not last long at all. I still have my OE alternator but it’s been rebuilt by a local shop once.

Ford gave us too small of alternators on the 7.3 and the 6.0 upgrade to a high output with better batteries and cables and never have a problem again

If it was a 6.7 I bet you’d of pushed to diag it. I think I’ve repaired 3 battery light issues and it’s never been the alternator

That's a super easy 10 minute job, I'm surprised they actually paid for a tech to replace a warrantied alternator.

Who ever owns a EXCURSION and can't change their own alternator..🤔🤔 shouldn't be driving a EXCURSION !!

It took 3 oreillys alternators on my obs 7.3 before I got one that wasn’t shorted internally to illuminate the battery light. I’m not surprised the reman was junk
