Areece is the first artist in SA to reach such a fanbase and following, purely from RAP music. SA has had many talented rappers e.g= Proverb, but none have reached this level of following especially those who don't use Vernac. SA responds better to House/Dance music, highly commercial hiphop, Afropop, Gospel etc. So for Areece to be a "lyrical" focused artist and still have the whole country speaking about him, and still have such a solid fanbase, that means alot. He might not be an "A-Lister" that I agree with, but he has opened up a portal to greater possibilities. He has shown so may SA Lyrical Rapper that it's possible to crack the SA Market without folding. You don't need to dance to make an impact. the critics are not wrong, but they are deliberately ignoring Areece's achievements just to make their point
