Helios is the god of the sun and Apollo is the god of sunlight, apollo also has many more thing then sunlight that he is known for, just like selena and Artemis, one is the goddess of the moon and the other is the goddess of the moonlight and many more things, they aren't the same they are just somewhat similar when it comes to the sun.

Well no, Helios is not the only sun god. Apollo is a sun god too, and although he's not primarily a sun god or the primary sun god in earlier interpretations, he still IS a sun god. Also he's never been the god of sunlight.
