My mom told me that my dad believes he can get a high position in Vietnam once the US take over control of Vietnam just because his dad was a colonel in South Vietnam. I laughed at that.

This also has the effect of shielding Americans from ever meeting populations who were in favor of socialist revolution. It's a structural form of propaganda baked into our immigration system

Call me brainwashed if you want, but me, as a Vietnamese-Canadian, will always advocate against the autocratic government(s) that actively suppresses democracy and stifles economic and social progression 🤷♂️Western liberal democracies aren’t perfect but its demonstrably true that it produces economical prosperity and provides a space for social/intellectual progressivism

i kind of agree but not really because there are Iranians in Iran who still think like this while getting bombed and they don’t even like the monarchy. And this is even still true for Iranians who have immigrated five years ago. And not all are US based there are many in toronto and europe

Don’t forget the Cubans in Florida. They have actively participated in terror attackes on Cuba, sponsored by CIA. And the Nobel peace prize winner Maria Corina Machado from Venezuela is pushing both Trump and Netanyahu to invade Venezuela military. She also approves on deadly sanctions like the gusanos of Florida do that I mentioned earlier…

during the 60’s/70’s the u.s. purposefully allowed immigrants from countries destabilized by the u.s., they had to be vetted to be anti communist, anti left wing, anti revolutionary (aka against u.s. imperialism), largely influencing the diaspora we have today

The only Iranians that r happy r rich Persian Jews living in LA. The rest of us w REAL ties to Iran and our people and our homeland r terrified. I can’t blame them necessarily for being disconnected bc they were exiled but they r totally out of touch and they don’t represent us

zionists have no real friends :
it really sucks to be a diaspora. these r the only ppl who understand what its like being between two cultures. but its a minority experience for a reason. to truly have self love and pride in who u are is to acknowledge that the narrative u grew up on is but just 1 single story & that maybe u should question if its actually true that the only ppl on earth u share a culture and language with overseas r supposedly ur enemy or if maybe thats something that doesnt make all that much sense actually & someone actually managed to convince u it was.
