Let’s leave the ocean alone please. The amount of seashells people are taking from the ocean are damaging the eco system. They provide houses, cleansing, surface attachment, habitat formation, protective factors, they help regulate the PH levels and mitigate ocean acidification, the oceans carbonates cycle and so on…. If it was just a small handful of people it would be different but it’s making a huge impact because so many people have taken so much and continue to do so.

Guys… I feel like some of y’all need a little marine biology moment 💔 Most shells that wash up are what’s called post-mortem biological material. Basically, the animal that lived there is long gone and nature’s done with it 😭 Painting them or turning them into art doesn’t harm the ecosystem when they’re already abandoned like that.

it's perfectly acceptable to take a few shells from the beach guys especially this type. you shouldnt really take the other type (ones that hermit crabs use to live in) or ones with living things in but the shells in this video can no longer home anything because the animal that lived in them are long dead

I understand that it is beautiful, but please do not collect shells and do not teach others to do so. You think that nothing will happen if you take 6 shells, but during the day a lot of people come to the beach. If only 20 of them take 6 shells each, then that will be 120 shells per day. People already pollute the sea too much to take away from it what it creates
