It’s sad how anti-intellectual some Muslims who claim salafiyyah are. They have no understanding of how the historical and geographical development of the deen lead to the necessity of schools of creed (Aqeedah) and jurisprudence (fiqh) being developed too. The prophet SAW and his companions didn’t have to deal with the Mutazilah and other philosophical challenges. Major credit is given to Imam Ahmad for resisting against the Mutazilah, but they don’t realise it was the Asharia who actually destroyed the Mutazilah and safeguarded the Aqeedah of the salaf. They did a massive favour for the ummah. People need to read their history and stop parroting non sense.

It’s not about methodology. Bc the Salafism existed since Islam began. Ibn Tahimiyah and Wahab were revivers. Nothing wrong calling yourself Wahabi or Taymi either. Islam isn’t Neoplatonic based religion.
