have a question am travelling over from Northern Ireland to fish way my brother in law on a private syndicate water were fishing an over night 10 o clock in the morning till 10 the nxt morning take it a 24 hr license just.

It’s £40 for a year. I don’t understand why everyone gets their knickers in such a twist. Just pay it. Whether you think you should need one or not the simple fact is by law you do, so don’t be a muppet and just buy a licence

The money you pay for a licence actually goes to Clubs, saving fish, Calverton fish farm and the fish it stocks into, rivers and lakes. Helps clubs with the improvement fund and loads and loads of other really important stuff. The fines do not go to any of that, and go to the government!! Buy a licence!!

It would make sense if they actually took care and used the money they got to buy back into the waterways and deal with all these overflows of sewage etc and just the quality of the canals and lakes

Important to note that if you are 13-16 you still NEED A FISHING LICENCE. You just have to pay for it so do your research and check if unsure!

For me I genuinely think a rod license should only be necessary for 2 rods+. There should never be a situation where a young lad/lass wants to fish and they have to think about if they have a license to do it, adding obstacles to get into the hobby is unnecessary - especially with the decrease in “value” you’re getting from your license every year.
