Mel is just ashamed of her past. She doesn’t like Supahead cuz she exposed their true profession. She tries to have revisionist history to try to clean up her perceived past. But the show exposes who she was back then and now. She was going from star to star as well. The reason she doesn’t expose who she was with is because that would be proof that she was “supahead” as well. Joe and the cast know who she was.
