Fun fact: America still supported slavery for young Native Americans. They were often taken away from their families and used at farms for free labor until they were 18. Native children were adopted into white families for illegitimate reasons and removed from their culture.

Bro it was such a small thing in history that would even write down the date that happened. We had to estimate when it happened. That's why it should not be a federal holiday and just to clarify the US is really good on writing down dates of historical facts like who did it when did the thing happen and where did it happen and we couldn't even do that to say hey the war ended guys and it's been like two months. You're free now. Stop acting like it's a federal holiday when it was such a small spec in the United States history that we couldn't write it down thank you.
