I had an Intel Mac with 32gb ram. Final Cut, premiere, photoshop, Lightroom, NONE of it works anymore. So today I bit the bullet and spent the 3 grand on the M4 chip. I’ve been holding off for so long because I loved my Intel Mac. I heard bad things about silicon.

Final Cut is better on the m series. If you want a New MacBook You van gat away with an air m4 but You Will Miss a fan that the pro has. The screen on the pro is better also better for color grading, because of the XDR display

Don’t listen to anyone. When you’re not computer forward definitely stay on Mac! To answer your question. If your using your Mac for productivity and work go with a MacBook Pro it will be such a day and night difference. Also the air is mainly for people who need a computer for email and such not productivity.

New M series chips are great. It depends how intense of video you are working with. If it’s 1080P, should be fine with just an Air. 4K? Get the pro and make sure you are getting PLENTY of RAM and storage. It’s the one thing I regret not doing on mine

You can definitely get away with the latest Mac Book Air, is a beast, just get a big more ram if you can. Also, take advantage of the education store, no verification needed if order online, and you can use the savings to increase the ram. If you need to edit long videos 4k, i’m talking like hours of footage then maybe an Macbook Pro with either Pro or Max Chip with 30+ ram.

Get a new MacBook. All the Intel chips on MacBooks are very slow, and that was why MacBooks were so hated. Unless you really need a pro, an air works fine.
