@pursuingeverest: For our 10-year wedding anniversary my husband and I wanted to do something hard that required a lot of training and pushed us mentally and physically. We wanted a milestone event that brought us closer together and challenged our norm of what we viewed was possible in every day life. This is the @29029everesting event where you hike the elevation gain of Everest (29029 ft) within a 36 hr time limit. It not a race. It’s you vs the mountain. It’s you vs you. It was an incredible experience with an incredible group of people. We all can “find our Everests” metaphorically by not just sitting at “base camp” each day, but making the effort to keep climbing, even when it’s hard. I’m challenging myself to find my Everest each day and pursue the summit. So keep climbing. With the right mindset, grit, humility, and will it’s amazing how far we all can go…especially when we climb together. #29029 #everesting #everestchallenge #29029everesting #29029sunvalley #29029challenge #29029ft
This is actually way cooler than submitting Everest. No sherpas, no $20k permits, everything done by you. No planes no trash no colonialism. This is a real achievement.

Tbh I have a lot more respect for this than someone who actually climbs Everest with a Sherpa carrying 50lbs of gear for them

It’s crazy how many people don’t understand what you did. 5K elevation gain in one day is a lot.

This was one of my favorite races to volunteer at when it came to Snow Basin Utah. True athletes showed up and shined. Amazing work! ❤️

Do you actually gain 29000 ft in 33 hours though? Don’t you stop for days at different camps?

This is much better than climbing Everest imo — so much trash is left behind on Everest and it’s so risky!! Also not to mention how expensive is and many times Sherpa’s do lots of the work for those who climb it…

this looks amazing! Do you stop and mark it every time you hike the equivalent of the other mountains?

I hiked up Pikes Peak once. 14,110ft walked up the road for most of it and climbed up on the switchback areas where I could see the road above. It was fun but exhausting. Glad I had a ride down.

Congrats! I’m sure that took a lot of work! It’s also cheaper and better for the environment and your own health to do it this way.
