My girlfriend got me into epic when the Troy saga came out, and she died before she ever got to listen to the Ithaca saga. This breaks my heart but every time I hear epic I think of her. Epic changed my life and I am forever grateful to Jorge for that beautiful gift. Epic is one of the things that helped me get through the grief. There was a time where I was grabbing a kn!fe and was about to k*ll myself but then open arms played on my computer because I forgot my Spotify was playing. open arms was my gf’s favorite song and it pulled me out of my moment of extreme grief and depression. Jorge, quite literally, saved my life. Thank you so much

I was certain I would never escape isolation, never be able to do the things I love for work, that I would never have true friends, that I would always, always be alone… I was certain of many things, until EPIC. You spending all of those years pouring your heart, time, and soul into this thing ended up becoming so much more than you ever could have bargained for. Jorge, I can say personally that your art has saved lives. It gave me a home, when I never thought I could have one. It gave me strength when I was weak. It gave me true, real friends who care about my creativity and truly want to see me experience joy. It connected me with multiple creatives who, rather than focusing on the perfection of it all, have light in their eyes when they talk about the things they touch. Creatives who are making things for the same reasons you did. Creatives who have the ‘open arms’ mentality natually, who make me feel safe enough to begin again. Your cast is EFFORTLESSLY lovely, kind hearted, free spirited, and talented… as you are. You brought together the most incredible people. Your art has done something monumental for the theatrical world, for the individual lives of so many. Because of you, I get to pursue the career of my dreams and have fallen into great people and opportunities I never would have found otherwise. I know my content seems obnoxious, silly, eyebrow raising… but at the core of it all is love. is creating. is laughing with your friends about what you love. All of it can only exist, and is only around because of everything you did. YOU changed my life, without meaning to. Thank you. I get to be silly and make memes everyday while having a 10x brighter future with beautiful people in it. I will always be rooting for you. Thank you, and thank you to everybody involved in EPIC, cast, fans, any single person who had worked on it… frankly, I owe yall my heart. I wish I had the right words to truly capture how much this project and the people in it and around it mean to me.

EPIC changed my life as well, “I Can’t Help But Wonder” came out exactly 7 days before i found my birth father, and that song has kept me going through the whole experience of getting to know him and finally meeting him in person. thank you for everything you do, your art matters and it helps bring comfort and joy to so many people!!!! we love you!!!!
