By high school I stopped reciting it. Made a bunch of my teachers mad. They thought I was being disrespectful and sent me to the principal's office many times. Principal was a Vietnam vet. He said he respected my decision. He knew what was up.

Just got a letter in the mail, they are now having 1-2 minute “moment of silence”. We ALL know it means prayer. I had my kids in a private Christian school, pulled them out because of how brainwashing it was for my kids. Now this! It really upsets me. Not necessarily for my child, but I think about ALL the children. 😡 😡😡

The words “under god” were not in the original pledge and added on Flag Day, June 14th, of 1954. Just a fun fact that you can throw out at parties 💙

Buddy of mine in 8th grade got suspended for replacing “…for all” with “…for the rich” at the end. It was a pretty big deal in 1981. Anyway, we didn’t do it in high school.

surprisingly my high-school is very relaxed about it, and usually they only do the announcements during 3rd period along with the pledge, but it's usually only the teacher and like 1 student that actually do the pledge anymore
