as soon as the bat kids are all home safe, Alfred puts the entire manor on lockdown. nobody goes in or out until every single wound is healed, even the tiniest cut. he whips up everyone's comfort foods, the kids huddle together by the fireplace, all bandaged up. meanwhile Bruce is alone in the bat cave. he wipes away tears while typing out contingency plans. He keeps typing then deleting, starting over, stopping. He's made countless contingency plans before, but always for eliminating a threat, never for protecting someone. he breaks down "I couldn't protect them"

honestly he wouldn't even gotten to the "my kids need help" part because that wasn't Batman calling for backup from Superman that was Bruce asking his friend Clark for help Superman would have been in Gotham before he could have got that next word out already saving Nightwing sending him over to save red hood while he go save spoiler and so on

this fits so well because i can picture a scene where after knights fall the batfamily has to pick up for bruce and slowly the villains start to see that batman hasn't been appearing so they get cocky and eventually manage to have each member of the family in danger and with batman unable to do anything due to his back still healing and him in a wheel chair he asks for help from the one person he can always rely on cause they understand if Bruce is asking for help that means something is genuinely wrong

You KNOW Bruce would be stewing in his own regret for not being able to be there for them. He won’t be transparent about it, but for weeks he’d subtly make sure all of their utility belts are stocked with everything they need every single night for weeks after that.
