Damn, this is really good. I think it all comes down to who you are as a person, the way you carry yourself, your energy, and how you come across visually. And the fact that she’s a woman adds another layer- even if many people don’t want to admit that. Check the facts: men are perceived differently in this business. I’m talking about societal stigmas- yea, unjustified, of course but very real. The barriers she builds are, in part, a protective mechanism. Meanwhile, you might not have to think about certain things as much cause your calm, confident, and experienced presence already speaks volumes. Like you said, people respect you differently than they would a young, blonde woman...even if she’s incredibly talented and tech-savvy. We got a lot to work on but You making interesting points.

100% agree with everything you said! I personally just like having a safe guard to fall back on. Like I said, I rarely have to fall back on my contract, it’s just there for my peace of mind☺️! Very well spoken & love the reply.

I only do contracts for weddings cause like you said- whole day blocked off and 9.9/10 it’s not moving. Regular sessions (I don’t do commercial or high end stuff) is not messing with a contract. Too many variables and it’s a hassle- if they bail day of- fine with me… I don’t have to leave the house 🤷🏻♀️

the no negative comments online part was absolutely wild to me. if you're doing things right then that shouldn't even be an issue. at least not enough of one to worry about. of course sometimes people have bad experiences but then that's on you, as the photographer, to handle it properly so everyone is at least decently satisfied with the outcome.
