Surely the blood can and should be tested after donation for any anomalies. Getting the donations is the important bit. Testing and filtering out hazards naturally comes after, and should’ve already been happening in the first place

Finally. I had to stop donating for a few years because of my sexuality so I’m glad things are finally changing. This should have been done years ago. Our blood isn’t any different from anyone else’s.

blood and plasma are tested CONSTANTLY. every time you donate plasma its tested. every couple months they test whole blood. if someone had a disease, they'd know WAY before the plasma was processed and used, and they'd pull plasma promptly. its frozen on site and held for a certain time period before its shipped out and processed. and even after its shipped its held for a certain time period before processed. they are incredibly thorough and there is no need for these regulations anymore!! -sincerely, a former lead tech at a plasma center

Littler concerning that this was even a thing, if you’re avoiding donations from queer and trans ppl that’ll just make it seem like you’re not testing the blood enough 💀, this is literally no issue if it’s all tested which it is
