Optician here, that's a "stress fracture " sometimes if the cut the keys to big and force it into the frame the lens will split like that a stress fracture. They should replace it, its a manufacturer issue not customer issue.

Random Girl On The Internet 👽 :
They are such a scam.! I’m currently in a bad situation with them. As soon as the exam started, I was slightly startled by everything moving on its own and the commercial they force you to watch, so my eyes watered a little. I got mascara all over the lens of the machine. I let the “doctor” (Indian lady in a call center) know, and she raised her voice continuing to ask me what the letters were. I couldnt understand her and I kept saying the lense is dirty. She continued to ignore it and got frustrated with me. When I got out the customer service rep gaslit me about it and said “if that happened she would have called me in”. Then I was told my contact prescription didn’t change so I ordered contacts and asked them to tighten the screws on my raybans. I can’t see when I take them off so I had no idea they were bending them. I got the recipt for my contacts and my bent up glasses and my contacts were a whole .50 higher in each eye. My vision hasn’t changed in years. I tried them for 4 days and the headache was so bad and I’m going out of town tomorrow. So I went back in on Monday. They continued to gaslight me to the point my mother met me up there. They then scheduled me a “free redo” at another location the next day, but when I got there yesterday, they refused to do the exam without paying another couple hundred. Now I have to go to a music festival with the wrong prescription and bent up glasses and I will have to spend $600+ on new Raybans with special lens, a new eye exam somewhere else and the correct contacts when I get back. I wish I saw this sooner but I was in a hurry to get contacts before the trip.

That is stress cracking. At the location I work at, we would replace at no cost due to it not being your fault. Did you end up getting this taken care of?

Oh hell no! The frames are cheaper to replace than the lenses! Girl, go tell them that it does not make sense!

It appears as thought the lens was forced into the frame because it was cut incorrectly. Nope, it’s their responsibility.

I used to be an Optician and there is usually a warranty for 1 year from the lab. Either the lens was cut too big or alcohol crazed the side of the lens. Get a manager to replace the lenses especially since buying more than one pair.

It’s a faulty frame if the lense cracks. A good frame is meant to absorb the movement. If the frame is sized correctly and there’s too much tension, it’ll cause more pressure and tension on the lens.

We always buy the Ins. It covers the frame and lens. We pay like $30-$50. To replace. Which is way better then what my sons glasses cost. 😩 Ugh I’m sorry

Did they reach out to you yet to fix the issue? At my location we understand this isn’t a patients fault and reorder the lens regardless I guess it could be the manager you dealt with.

LensCrafters did the same thing to me. They cut my lense to big and it won’t fit correctly. I was told there was nothing they could do.

Optician here! Looks like you have a anti reflective coating on your lenses. Hard to believe that there is no warranty. I would definitely go back . I would never ever let my customers be unhappy …. Even if they don’t have a huge social

Used to work there. A) it’s a stress fracture. B) manufacturing defects cover up to 30 days from time you picked up. C) there’s lens warranty that covers for up to 2 years or end of life of your Rx that is extra per pair. D) I think manufacturer defect should be longer…especially on that frame. I LOVE this frame though.
