they don't do transplants for active alcoholics, at least not in Michigan. they won't even put you on the list unless you can prove you've been sober for x amount of time.

I lost my brother to liver failure from alcoholic cirrhosis in March of this year 2025. He was only 56 years old and I miss him terribly. Please take care of yourselves and get the help you need then stick with the sober path. 😢❤️

I'm in the transplant approval process after a HE episode/diagnosis in late October. To further complicate matters I ended up septic and found out I have something called Burr Cell Anemia during myost recent hospital stay. Hopefully I will meet all of the eval requirements and get listed by mid August.

My old best friend had pancreatitis… From drinking even though she swears it wasn’t from drinking. She was in a coma for about three days. Scary stuff!

My brother just got diagnosed with decompensated, cirrhosis, and he is doing phenomenal. He hasn't drank in over a month. His belly no longer has to get drained, and he is in this to live. And he is doing everything possible to stay healthy.
