It’s not an addiction dude 🤦♂️….it’s like any other craft that requires time and dedication to hone….everything these days gets turned into an addiction ….its the most populate negative connotation we try to give to anything we want to demonize.

This is too general. Social media can be good for finding information and bonding. Video games can be bad even in small amounts, if causing rage in people. It depends a lot on usage.

Video games make boys feel like heroes who accomplished something and saved lives and competed goals and - most importantly - the world appreciates them and rewards them for the effort. The real world treats them like villains just for simply existing.

I used to play violent games as a child and even then I knew they weren’t real. I have no violent tendencies and do not wish to cause harm to anyone. Video games do not make people violent. If they did we’d have a very serious problem on a global scale. With millions and millions of people (including children) playing video games over the last 30 - 40 years, I think it would be far clearer and more obvious if video games did cause detrimental problems.

What people really need to be aware of is loot boxes and micro transactions in games like Fortnite and the such. Some of those features are quite literally gambling.

People don't understand that anything is and can become an addiction as the body needs something as a stimulus. Be it smoking, drinking, taking drugs, (corn), video games, gambling, energy drinks etc. Most people have 1 of these yet we call video games a problem which is the least harmful of them all.

Video games have never made a human violent since their invention. They can however make a violent person more violent as can violent music, movies or TV. If a person is weak, everything is a detriment.

The game isn’t usually the issue, as a gamer I can attest that it’s the communities in the games. My sons will definitely be allowed to game as that’s literally how my husband and I met, but we will definitely monitor their groups
