We need History, English, etc majors the world dose just work on stem and high paying majors this is really only an American problem because university should be paid for by the government like most first world countries or at least be affordable

I think we should make the useless degree very expensive and you must pay out of pocket. then make degree for things we need free. STEM, teaching, medical, trades should be free.

I agree with you. But, OK here it goes. Brace yourself. The biggest challenge facing those deciding on college is predicting how AI will impact any profession. Four or even two years from now the whole landscape will look different. Take for example the legal profession. 12 months from now AI will do research and write briefs with 100% accuracy. This could decimate transactional lawyers and their support staff. All of it just hurts my head thinking about it.

I have a hot take. College isn’t grade school. U shouldn’t look at a college degree like trade school. If we have a world full of engineers, doctors and lawyers life would be boring. All degrees are useful
