I strongly dislike M5ODs. Glorified ranger transmissions. I killed 4 back in highschool behind a stock 5.0. Finally wised up and ZF5 swapped

I put am m5r2 behind the 302 in my ranger. I absolutely hate the trans. Wish I had went with a T5 instead. The M5 just shifts like crap. Perhaps it’s because mine is worn out or something but man it’s bad. Hopefully yours is a lot better, solid choice in trans as it can hold more power and abuse than a T5

Whatever you do don’t disconnect the clutch line. Or master cylinder they are hell to bleed. Almost impossible to bleed while in the truck

How much work has to be done or does the stock block and internals can stand the boost your going to receive with the turbo asking cause I want to do the same setup like you but with a cam and 4 barrel carb

The Mazda five speed aren’t very strong. Be careful. If it breaks go with the ZF5 they’re a lot stronger.

if you use one from 87-91 you can still hook speedometer up. the 91-95 doesn't have a place for the cable
