I have chase and Amex , but you could downgrade your sapphire reserve to the preferred for $95 annual fee to keep the chase transfer partners. If you want the platinum get the Amex gold (4x dining and groceries) first so you can get both sign up bonuses. Amex is clutch if you do a lot of online shopping since you can earn Amex points through the shopping portal rakuten

Look into the Capital One Venture X and Savor combo. Way lower annual fees and a similar CC combo for travel and lifestyle spend.

Chase is the goat. Downgrade to the chase preferred. The main thing you lose is airport lounges and if that’s a requirement get the cheaper Venture X. I would warn against the jump to Amex Plat bc once you get the Plat, you can NEVER get the signup bonuses for the gold or green!!

Depends on what you use your points for. Are you a portal booking person? Do you prefer Delta (then Amex) or Southwest/United (then Chase)? Both premium cards are a coupon book aside from points redemption.

Like some comments mentioned below, Amex came out and mentioned they’re announcing changes this fall. While I imagine improved perks, it’ll come with a spike in annual fee considering CSR just bumped theirs. That’s why I’m kinda just waiting for a bit.
