June 19th, 1865, two and a half years after the emancipation proclamation was signed, General Granger arrived in Galveston, TX to inform the slaves they were free. Four years ago, Pres. Biden assigned this a Federal holiday. THIS is the day to remember because until then, America was NOT a slace-free country. Unfortunately, today racism widely exists and the government has shifted its focus on Latino cultures to implement its racism. We must continue the fight and free our country of racism. We reflect on those people who fought for our freedoms and those who serve our country and continue to fight for our freedoms today. Stay strong, speak out, defend and most of all….
