@xiensscran: One of the most iconic (and one of my favourite) British Chinese takeaway dishes has to be salt and pepper chips. It was always a staple at mum’s takeaway and restaurant so I thought I’d show you how to recreate this life changing snack at home using the @NinjaKitchenUK CRISPi. The CRISPi is now on offer for £149 on the Ninja website! Ad Serves 2 For the veg: 1/2 red onion 1/2 white onion 1/2 red pepper 1/2 green pepper 1 spring onion 1 red chilli 2-3 garlic cloves For the seasoning mix: 1 tbsp salt 1 tbsp paprika powder 1 tbsp MSG (optional but authentic) 2 tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice, black pepper, garlic powder, ginger powder and chilli flakes 1/4 tsp Sichuan peppercorn powder and cumin powder 500g frozen chips 1 tbsp of vegetable oil spray Chop the onions and peppers, slice the spring onion and chilli. Mince the garlic. Spray or drizzle a little oil over the vegetables and set aside. Combine all the seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and set aside. Add frozen oven chips into the Ninja CRISPi, select the Air Fry option and cook according to the packet instructions. Flip halfway through, then add your prepped vegetables and cook until the chips are golden and the vegetables are slightly charred. Once crispy, toss everything in a large bowl with your homemade salt & pepper mix while it's hot (this is key!). Serve immediately with a bowl of curry sauce (optional but highly recommended) and enjoy. #crispisavestheday
