You only have a certain amount of time after you move to a different state, to register your car in the new state.

They usually have a “Garaging” address. If they primarily keep their car at a residence in either state they should update where it is Garaged. If they don’t, they’d be more likely to have the claim denied.

In most states you have a certain number of days after you move to register your car and get a new license. That number is much, much lower than 1,000 days.

I used to work for an auto insurance company. This is pretty common. Denying your claim is also common lol. Mailing and garaging addresses need to be the same or you’re committing insurance fraud.

Interesting to see some people’s closed mindedness on an issue that happens regularly. Same with pet insurance they asked where do I live and I say Texas cause I’m military but also NYC. Their follow on is where do you stay more at which is Texas but that’s not 100% certain if I’m traveling to NY for work or vacation. If you’re not blatantly lying I can see no cause for investigations
