Ain't that the truth.. Daywork use to be around alot now I barely can find it. and the work that's still out there ya gotta drive hours away to work it if you dont live close enough to it. Just ain't what it use to be. striving to start my own operation now and that's hard in itself too cus land ain't cheap here for any native that was born and raised here and wants to buy it. I dont want to be rich but hell it's hard just to live a decent, happy, and somewhat successful life as a Florida cowboy no matter how hard ya work. To anyone that's got family in the ranching business whether it's your parents or your grandparents or whoever dont sell it help them keep it, work it and grow it you dont understand the value you have or had until it's gone and ain't no worse feeling like driving by your families old property and it's not there anymore. housing developments changed the whole view and you cant recognize any of it anymore. keep your history and your traditions alive dont nothing ever come easy in life. work it like your elders had to you'll have more appreciation and respect for the outcome and progression later..

So sad, my county had more cattle than people in 1995, now thanks to The Villages our pasture lands and wilderness are mostly covered by asphalt and overpriced homes.

I hate seeing all our beautiful land turned into housing developments. So many in Osceola county! It’s not the same town I grew up in. Heading north Fl soon to buy land. Where small towns still exist. 🥰

I'm 53 years old, Born and raised in Cow Town Kissimmee. When I was a boy we worked the ranches. Absolutely the best time of my life. Worked Rodeos, Gathered cattle, Branded cattle , just everything there was to do on a ranch. Now I don't even understand why Kissimmee is even called Cow Town any more. All the big ranches have sold out and there's Housing developments and shopping plazas as far as the eye can see. Absolutely breaks my heart that my children couldn't grow up the way I did. God Bless you fellas that are keeping the dream alive. Thank You.

My dad was a Florida cowboy. We didn't own land, he worked for someone else. My brother and I chose not to follow in that line of work. Now it's gone.

I didn’t grow up cowboying here, I work elsewhere. But for every new project they make, it feels like I’m losing something from a life I never got to live.
